Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher Make Rare Red Carpet Appearance at Opry 100 Celebration
The Grand Ole Opry recently marked its monumental 100th anniversary, bringing together some of the biggest names in country music for a historic celebration. Hosted by Blake Shelton, the event featured performances from iconic artists like Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, and Lainey Wilson. However, before the curtain rose, all eyes were on the red carpet, where country superstar Carrie Underwood made a stunning entrance alongside her husband, former professional hockey player Mike Fisher.

Carrie Underwood is no stranger to red carpet events, but this particular appearance was extra special as she was accompanied by Mike Fisher, her husband of nearly 15 years. The couple, who prefer to keep their personal lives private, rarely attend public events together. In fact, their last joint red carpet appearance was at the CMA Awards in 2022.
Fans had noticed Mike’s absence at the 2023 CMT Awards, where Carrie revealed that he was at home looking after their children. She shared, “My husband’s got the kiddos. He’s always holding down the fort while I’m out doing stuff like this.” But for the Opry’s centennial celebration, the couple turned the evening into a memorable date night.

Carrie Underwood’s Heartfelt Tribute to Randy Travis
During the star-studded event, Carrie took center stage to honor country legend Randy Travis. The tribute was deeply personal for Carrie, as Randy was the artist who invited her to become a member of the Opry 17 years ago.
Randy Travis, who suffered a stroke in 2013 and has since battled aphasia, was moved by Carrie’s emotional renditions of “Three Wooden Crosses” and “Forever and Ever, Amen.” The tribute reached a touching climax when Carrie joined Randy in the audience, where he sang the final “Amen,” earning a heartfelt standing ovation from the crowd.
Carrie’s Connection to Randy Travis
Sharing her personal connection with the country icon, Carrie reminisced about her childhood, revealing that she used to borrow her sister’s Randy Travis cassette tapes. She told the audience, “From the first time I heard him sing—his traditional country voice and those songs—I knew my sister wasn’t getting those tapes back. The first time I met him, I cried. I never could’ve imagined that I’d be recording songs with him, or that Randy would become my good friend.”
